A Personal tribute

This is a personal tribute to the one person in my life who has helped me immensely. This person is the one who I unfortunately did not have the privilege of meeting or even seeing from a distance. Unfortunately when He was here amongst us, I wasn’t even born. This person, I ‘m sure you have figured out by now is Jesus Christ. My Lord, God and Savior. I say, in this sense, my God, because;

                                                                   "I and my Father are one."  John 10:30

           I have always, since a child, been very much aware of God and the fear of God. I got that from my father. But this ‘awareness’ has been just that, an awareness. Empty in a lot of ways, not realizing the significance and meaning of God’s grace,  love and mercy. Why do we complicate God so much?  His desire for us to come to realize one thing, is so simple. To  'know who I AM',  is all He requests, which simply is Love.

           My life has changed by such a magnitude that I can’t quantify it. The Holy Spirit as promised in the Lords word, the Bible, has changed my heart to such an extent that I see everything from a different point of view. Things that use to drive me nuts about people and issues in life, now have meaning. No, I don’t feel that I am ‘above’ them, in fact, I see myself as more insignificant than I have ever seen myself before. But Insignificant in a humble way. My quickness to judge, or come to a false conclusion has decreased dramatically. My patience is much more in abundance; my humility is much more enhanced. I truly have been undeservingly blessed in all that I do. Is everything perfect? Do I not go through trials? No. They are there, and they are real. But knowing that I have Jesus in my life to go to in time of trouble, that I can give Him my problems and realize, He will give me what I need in life, for that, I am thankful.

             I read a wonderful saying by Gotthold Epharaim Lessing which reads;

                                        “A single grateful thought raised to Heaven is the most perfect prayer”

  To that end, I say this in public view;

                                       Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I thank you for your gift of life

                                    through the efforts of your Son, my Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ. I pledge my

                                    life and soul to you and give you thanks..... thanks for my salvation....

                                    thanks for my undeserved blessings, but most of all, thanks....for you, being you!

                                                                                              Amen
