I have committed some serious sins. Will they all be forgiven?
Let me state
right here at the onset....... Yes they can and Will if you Believe and proclaim
that Jesus is your Lord and savior, confess your sins to Him, be 'born again', and
truly repent (turn away from them), then you are assured by God's word that you will
be saved. This wonderful answer to the basic question of our existence is given in
the book of John;
"For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever shall believe in Him should not perish, but have Eternal Life." John
3:16
It does not matter what the sin is, God can forgive and forget it for an eternity.
Your exact "judgment" as far as what you will receive or not receive at the judgment
day is between you and Him. No one on this earth can tell you exactly how that will
all work out.
All of our sins were forgiven when Christ died on the Cross.
This was the reason for His coming. Man's sin had to be reckoned with. It took Jesus
who was God incarnate that did this. It was Jesus' blood that was shed that washed
away the sins of man. Once this was done, the new covenant was in place, and that
meant (among other things) that believing in Jesus would bring forgiveness of all
sins FOREVER!
There are several verses in the scriptures that assure us of
this. Some of them are listed below.
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Is. 1:18-20
A very important point in the above scripture; "but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword." Another words, refuse to believe in Jesus and spend an eternity in Hell.
"Therefore, let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to
you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from
all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses." Acts 13:
38-39
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". 1 John 1:9
