Which religion did God create?
As the theme of this web site implies......
God is NOT a religion, He is a REALITY! God did not create religion as we think
of it today with the many different denominations. Man did. Churches today concentrate
on their a belief systems and create various sets of rules and regulations one should
obey within a particular faith. A common belief is that if these rules are followed,
‘their beliefs’ are the correct ones and one is made 'right' in the eyes of God.
Not only is this belief not biblical, God's own words tell us this is not true. We
are incapable of being right with God on our own, regardless of our particular denominational
belief;
"For all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God". Rom. 3:23
More than likely you have heard people says, “It’s’ ok for you to believe what you want as long as it doesn’t interfere what I believe”. It might be interesting to note that the New Testament does not even recognize the various denominations we have. When Paul spoke to the people in the church of Corinth, he tried to stop this trend of different beliefs from becoming the norm;
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor. 1:10-13
Yes, there were various geographical differences such as the church in Corinth, The Church in Ephesus etc. The theological variations did not exist as much as they do today. We have no idea how to return to the one Church belief system. It’s much more ‘convenient to “pick and choose” your belief or even your own religion. The truth of it is, that there is one truth, one interpretation of the Bible. The problem is it’s man doing the interpretation.
True Christian belief should be living a life in line with God's word through the
belief in Jesus Christ. It should not matter what your background is;
“There is
neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor
female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” Gal. 3:28
This 'correct'
Christian living with God involves excepting Jesus as our savior, repenting of our
sins, which involves turning away from them. Living a Godly life involves many things
such as kindness to other, being forgiving, studying and telling others of God's
word. It is the kindness of heart that simulates our being with the way Jesus showed
His disciples and commands us to do the same;
"Pure religion and undefiled before
God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world". James 1:27
If you think about it, these simple commands need not be affected by denominational divisions. They need no ‘theological interpretation’. They are simple enough for a child to understand.
As the Bible states, Jesus is the head of the Church. Belief in Him is
the only way you can have this right relationship with God;
"And he is the head of
the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in
all things he might have the preeminence". Col. 1:1
