What does the bible say about Psychics?

        The Bible teaches us that things of this nature are absolutely wrong! Some say, "oh. it’s only harmless stuff. I just go along for the fun of it." Others actually believe in its REAL power (emphasis..... on REAL).  One of the problems is that to put it nicely, the vulnerability of man can lead this 'harmless' stuff to becoming convincing. Didn't Satan say a similar thing to Eve when she was being tempted to eat of the forbidden fruit?

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  Gen 3:4-5

       Satan knows this is a real enticing thing to get into. He strives for us to do that because it destroys the Soul. Since Satan knows his days are numbered, any amount he can take with him is what he strives for.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaming lion, seeking whom he may devour."

1 Peter 5:8

More importantly, These things are against God's word, and the bible gives us many warnings about 'getting into' these things. During observance of the Law of Moses, people were  commanded to stay away from this very sort of thing ;

"A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them."  Lev. 20:27

"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a  spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out before you."Deut. 18:10-12

If we are looking for wisdom, trying to teach others, God's word in the Bible is where to turn, not Spirits.   Amen.
