I don't really have any need for that stuff, and besides, I don't think any God
would care about me.
In response to the first part of the statement, "I really
don't have any need for that stuff", my only response is......Yes you do........you
just don't realize it yet.
Can you truly say your life is perfect with no problems
and if problems do occur, are you able to deal with them without much effort? Now
I am not saying that having Jesus in your life eliminates all of these issues. However
one thing is for sure- when life throws you a curve ball, having the Lord in your
life to turn to gives us assurance that He will always listen and be there. This
is something I know for a fact we can not count on 100% of the time when we try to
rely on our family and or friends to resolve our problems.
Also, look around
you. Look at all the beautiful things of nature, The Human body, our mind and our
abilities. To be doctors, skilled laborers, Engineers. Do you honestly think all
of this came to being by chance? If you don't, then good for you. But, if you don't
believe all of this came by chance, then why would you not want to worship the one
who created it all for you? The one who made you who you are? And one who promises
a life without pain and suffering forever. The day will come, when you will have
to decide.... I believe....or I do not. None of us are capable of doing anything
on our own. If you have a good job and perform well in it, don't think for a moment
YOU are the one who got you there;
" I am the vine, and you are the branches.
He who abides in me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do
nothing. " John 5:15
In response to the second part of
the statement "I don't think any God would care about me", Read the scripture in
John 3:16;
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.”
God created Jesus, and gave Him up to be tortured, beaten then crucified for us.
His only son. How many of us would be able to do the same? How could God do such
a thing? Because we are His children, and in His perfect plan for everything, He
knew Jesus would be resurrected. All for our sake. We, who deserve nothing. We, who
God is obligated to do nothing for. But in His infinite mercy and Love for His children,
He allowed Jesus to go through what He did.
Some of us so feel unworthy to
be considered one of God's chosen people. We see others around us that are very confident
in their success. They seem to be carefree and are the ones who truly think they
"don't have any need for this kind of stuff". They are the foolish ones. Throughout
scripture, God shows how He brings the weak and poor to strength, for the purposes
of showing the strong how weak and poor they truly are. Lastly, I will share with
you a verse that puts these things into perspective;
“Look at the birds of the air,
for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you
not of more value than they"? Mathew 6:26
